Meditative winter watercolour
FREE VIDEO. A beautiful way to unwind and simply enjoy observing the painting as it unfolds quietly before your eyes.
Watercolour is an incredibly mindful medium. It requires us to listen and create dialogue in harmony WITH it, rather than push, force or demand anything of this gentle medium. My hope is that is will connect with you on multiple levels. Before watching trying this video, take a moment to ground yourself with a few breaths. Remind yourself to be kind, forgiving and let go of any preconceptions of how you “want this to turn out”.

This video can be used in different ways:
A) Observe and Relax: This could be a beautiful way to unwind and simply enjoy observing the painting as it unfolds quietly before your eyes.
B) Watch and Learn: A more active state of opening up your curiosity and perhaps gleaning a few tips and tricks along the way. Reminding yourself to let go, be present and abandon control in watercolour as a mindful medium.
C) Paint Along: In this Zen winter landscape, I will take you through a few informal lessons on setting up your paper, palettes and paints. Remember, that this is a very loose style of teaching and is meant to be somewhat unstructured to allow you to be completely present with your painting. I encourage you to play with various wetness of paper surfaces, tools and dilutions of pigment. (If you'd like more formal and structured lessons please see the links to my FULL VIDEO TUTORIALS below)
Think of this as more of a demonstration of how to free yourself of self-judgement, criticism and just play and have fun!
