D.I.Y Travel Art Pouch
Make it cute with salvage materials!
A few years ago I made this custom leather art pouch. It measures 9x12 and was very affordable (and EASY) to make. I made this with leather because I wanted it to be really durable and weather proof and it was scrap / salvage leather and will wear beautifully over time. You could make it out of any material (double layers of fabric) or oil cloth, re-cycled clothing, or heavy canvas even! I am no seamstress so this is definitely on the SIMPLE side!
I travel a lot and bring my watercolour paints pretty much everywhere with me. I wanted something simple, SLIM & attractive but tough and rugged enough to carry around my journal and watercolour blocks and even a few pens, brushes and paints. I thought I'd share so you can make one too.
Just like having a camera in your car or snapping pics with your phone - it is a really good practice to keep a small sketchbook on you. This is one way to do it - of course you can scale it up or down.
